(2022.09.21) Ningbo, China/ Auburn Hills, MI USA  Joyson Safety Systems (JSS) was named a 2022 Automotive News PACE Award winner at the awards ceremony on September 19. The prestigious award recognizes automotive suppliers for superior innovation, technological advancement and business performance.

Joyson Safety Systems was recognized for its Pyrotechnic Battery Disconnect, an active, low cost, lightweight battery interruption device. This device is triggered by the electronic control unit to irreversibly disconnect the high voltage, high current flow from surrounding electric vehicle systems to help mitigate the increased risks of electrocution resulting from electric and hybrid vehicle crashes.

The 28th annual PACE Awards were presented by Automotive News. The competition was open to suppliers that contribute products, processes, materials or services directly to the manufacture of cars or trucks. The Automotive News PACE Award is accepted around the world as the industry benchmark for innovation.

The Automotive News PACE Award recognition is the result of an extensive review by an independent panel of judges including a comprehensive written application and a virtual site visit.
